横瑶村在惠东县白盆珠镇，村民历来靠碗窑烧碗谋生。^[1]村里共有99条陶（窑），分上陶、下陶。此地原叫横坑陶，传说古时烧出过神奇的一窑碗，后改称横瑶。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1957年12月，横瑶并入布心乡；1963年2月成为新庵公社的横瑶大队；1983年同布心合并为布心乡。1987年3月，据惠东府函〔1987〕18号文设横瑶村委，1990年称管理区，1998年起为横瑶村委会。^[2]

沉香是横瑶村的特色产业，2021年9月该村列入第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单；2019年9月名列2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。^[1]
