下南村位于广东省惠州市博罗县园洲镇，是该镇下辖的行政村。据传，南宋时始祖少一公随父母从河南许昌颍川南迁；陈圆围的玉存公也由颍川迁到南雄珠玑巷，后到东莞城经商，再来下南定居。先人起初养鸭为生，发现山岗以南的东江里鱼虾、蚬很多，便沿江建村。村在山岗下游，故称下南。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1950年，陈屋、刘屋、田寮三村合组下南乡。1963年下南陈屋同上南、刘屋并为上南大队，1968年又分出，单设下南陈屋大队；1983年同刘屋大队、下南居民合组下南乡，1986年乡撤销，下南陈屋改设下南管理区，直到1999年才成为下南村民委员会。[2][3]
