廖尾村位于广东省惠州市博罗县园洲镇，是该镇下辖的行政村。清雍正九年（1731年），村的始祖从东莞鳌峙塘迁来；村子位于「洋花潦」的末端，因此叫廖尾。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村里流传的迁入记录有三条：乾隆二十七年（1762年）鹤佬村人自泰美秀岭迁来，次年坎头村人自东莞横沥黄圹村迁来，民国二十七年（1938年）新围村人自南雄珠玑巷迁到廖尾和梁屋。1949年新围村人又迁往禾山，重建新围。1963年廖尾编入禾山大队，1978年分出自成大队，新围同时划给它；1984年再并入禾山乡，次年8月又分开。此后1986年1月起设管理区，直到1999年才成为廖尾村民委员会。[2][3]
