上茆村是四会市下茆镇的行政村，辖区下设20个村民小组，登记人口2739人，土地约4平方公里（博雅地名网所载）[1]。
地名由来[edit]
从前下茆一带以水口庙为界分上、下两区，这里在水口以上，故称上茆[1]。
经济[edit]
九十年代初，在旅港商人宋伟文资助下村里基本实现村村通水泥路，是四会市较早通水泥路的村之一[1]。种植水稻、桔柑、甘蔗、黄皮，养殖四大家鱼和家禽；村内大坚水库已初步开发为集游玩、餐饮、住宿于一体的农业基地[1]。上茆大队始于1958年，1987年改设管理区，1998年设村民委员会[1]。
