以农业为主。位于四清路边的下茆大洞水稻示范基地占地2700多亩，博雅地名网称其为四会市最大的水稻生产示范基地；另产柑桔、黄皮、甘蔗[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
下茆大队始于1958年，1987年改设管理区，1998年设村民委员会，2004年下堀村委会并入，统称下茆村民委员会[1]。
