历史沿革[edit]
村名来自村民多姓蔡。1968年曾称东风大队，1981年复用原名；1983年改乡，1989年改管理区，1998年成立村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
村民历来有做木材加工的传统，手艺较高，多数人做家具和木材加工，大小家具厂和木材加工厂合计四十余家，年产值三百余万元，被称为“蔡屋家私村”。村子靠近冷坑圩镇。[1]
