历史沿革[edit]
建国后组建高级社时，合取辖区内南溪、南洞两村名的首字为名。[1]建制依次是：1958年设南洞大队，1983年11月改乡，1987年称村委会，1989年4月称管理区，1998年成立村民委员会。[1]
地理环境与经济[edit]
全村面积约18.62平方公里，下辖14个村民小组，总人口2416人（未注明年份），离镇政府15.7公里，被博雅地名网列为革命老区村。[1]山地26268亩，耕地仅637亩；出产以林木、竹笋、南药、蜂蜜为大宗。[1]镇概况中提到的「南洞杉」，是怀集「三洞名杉」之一。[2]
