河社村是乐城镇下辖的行政村，沿省道264线分布，与广宁县五和镇相连，是全镇离镇中心最远的一个村委会，距乐城圩镇9公里，距高要城区60公里。^[1] 村域面积约8平方公里，辖7个自然村。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1956年建初级、高级社，属端源乡；1958年并入乐城公社，为河社大队；1983年大队改为乡，1987年撤乡，改设村民委员会，1989年又改设管理区，1998年撤去管理区，改设河社村委会，沿用至今。^[2]

博雅地名网（未注明年份）的数字是总人口2590人；百度百科则称常住人口仅1000余人，户籍人口2700余人，分17个村民小组。^[1]^[3] 村地处丘陵，水田少而山地多，水田种稻，山地种玉桂、沙糖桔、佛手和巴戟，村民主要靠外出务工和种植这些作物为生。^[1]

2021年8月，河社村列入“2020年广东省森林乡村”。村里的集体收入偏少，村党支部书记计划利用当地种植南药的传统流转土地，带动村集体增收和村民就业。^[3]
