历史沿革[edit]
南宋咸淳二年（1266年），李姓先祖从南雄珠玑巷迁来建村，聚落顺小山丘呈阶梯状展开。[1] 由于村位于旧称「禄洞乡」的中部，村委会定名中心村。[1] 1958年称中心大队，1983年称中心乡，1986年称中心管理区，1998年起为中心村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
2002年人口1648人，耕地75公顷，主种水稻、花生；有粮油加工、砖瓦、石矿、砂轮等私营企业。1998年村委会在南头圩建起2000平方米的市场，家庭副业以养母猪、育猪苗为主；村里建有禄洞小学，华侨及港澳同胞182人。[1] 2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1] 《桃源镇总体规划》将中心列为以工业为主的村。[2]
