蟠光村是鹤山市桃源镇下辖的行政村，位于镇西南，距镇区约3千米，旧325国道从村前经过，自然村共五条，即南头、井水盒、瓦窑、金坳峡和早禾坑。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋咸淳二年（1266年），李姓先祖自陇西迁到南雄珠玑巷，不久转迁此地。^[1] 旧时这里办过「蟠光义学」，村委会以此命名；因村前原有「南头坊」门楼（已毁），村子又称南头。^[1] 1958年称蟠光大队，1983年称蟠光乡，1986年称蟠光管理区。^[1]

2002年人口1257人，耕地78公顷，种水稻与花生；一些村民去南头市办加工厂、开铺面做生意。村内有蟠光小学和幼儿园，华侨和港澳同胞共741人。^[1] 2023年11月，蟠光村入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村；2024年1月，该村列入2023年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）名单。^[1]
