澳头社区在汕头市濠江区礐石街道东北侧，三面环山，一面向汕头港，与北岸市区隔海相望，面积2.7平方千米[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
村名取其位于港湾之首、可停泊船只之意[2]。元代已有马、史、郑等姓人家在村东南雄鸡山麓搭寮居住；明洪武元年（1368年）因海寇劫掠，迁到今址定居，渐成村落[1]。1946年，澳头与葛洲、东湖合称潮光乡；1953年与妈屿合并为妈澳乡；1959年成立澳头大队[1]。
经济与社会[edit]
1995年起，居委会统一规划建设海湾花园小区，占地38.6亩，建有楼房15幢、419套，总建筑面积5.01万平方米，辖区林地覆盖率达67.8%[3]。文化中心兼星光老年之家建筑面积2200平方米[3]。社区简介载有716户3251人[1]。2022年1月被确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位，2024年4月入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单[1]。
