棉花社区在汕头市濠江区礐石街道，位于磊口大桥西侧，是纯农社区[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
此地原有木棉树丛生，潮汕俗称棉为「胶播」，叫作「胶播园」，村名由此而来[2]。清嘉庆年间（1796—1820），石、赵两姓人家先后在此筑寮定居，起名棉花村[1]。1959年设棉花大队，1984年归达濠区磊口乡，1987年3月改称村委会，1999年6月设居委会，2003年起属濠江区[1]。
现状[edit]
社区简介载，全居1540人、352户，人均耕地仅0.2亩，被列为省扶贫村；2024年1月被确定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」[1]。
