历史沿革[edit]
该村1958年设大队，1983年设乡政府，1987年设村民委员会，1989年改设管理区，1998年恢复村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。
经济[edit]
全村275户、1596人，水田520亩、旱地337亩、林地780亩，土地共1637亩；有贫困户114户496人、低保户42户84人。村民全部参加农村合作医疗[1]。
煤矿关闭之前，村民主要靠挖煤为生；之后以外出务工和种花生、黄烟、养猪为主，一部分农户开发山地种了水果。通往行政村的公路已硬化[1]。
据广东省林业局网站报道，秀水镇的油茶产业以大竹山村为中心，周边几个村的农户也加入了种植[2]。
