历史沿革[edit]
该村1958年设大队，1983年设乡政府，1987年设村民委员会，1989年改设管理区，1998年恢复村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。
经济[edit]
原国有八字岭煤矿在该村境内，八字岭设有一处小集市。煤矿关闭前，不少村民在矿上挖煤，关闭后外出务工成为主要收入来源[1]。
全村490户、2552人，水田568亩、旱地502亩、林地1021亩，土地共2091亩；有贫困户187户837人、低保户44户89人。村内办有八字岭完小和卫生站。只有湖泉江、邝家等沿主干公路的村小组通了硬化路[1]。
荣誉[edit]
西河村于2022年1月经广东省乡村振兴局确定，成为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」的创建单位[1]。
