历史沿革[edit]
该村1958年设大队，1983年设乡政府，1987年设村民委员会，1989年改设管理区，1998年恢复村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。
经济[edit]
全村207户、1019人，水田298亩、旱地487亩、林地429亩，土地共1214亩；有贫困户115户486人、低保户34户68人。村属石灰岩山区，山上草木稀疏，水源不足。通村公路已硬化，通往各村小组的路仍未硬化[1]。
村民主要靠外出务工、种黄烟和花生取得收入。村办有一所低年级小学和乡村卫生站[1]。
据广东省林业局网站报道，秀水镇的油茶产业以大竹山村为中心，周边几个村的农户也加入了种植[2]。
荣誉[edit]
大竹山村以油茶入选2020年8月广东省农业农村厅公布的「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」。2019年9月公布的「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」中也有该村[1]。
