水门村在番禺区东北部化龙镇镇中心，辖区面积3.71平方千米，下辖7个村民小组。村名由「隔山」改称而来。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据《番禺县镇村志》，相传明洪武十一年（1378年），原住水圳上的李姓人迁来开村，因与原住地隔着胜堂山，取名隔山。^[1]1928年，村人见南北两座山岗对峙如门，又有小河穿村向东注入珠江，改称水门。^[1]1984年称水门乡，1987年4月成立村民委员会。^[1]

博雅地名网所载村情称，在册人口2095人，另有外来人员900多人，耕地3600多亩，种花卉、养四大家鱼；村委会收入主要来自耕地和厂房发包；2007年实行人口股份固化，2009年起替年满45周岁的股东买了农村养老保险。^[1]

荣誉有：2022年1月，进入广东省2021年度乡村治理示范村创建单位；2024年1月，成为2023年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）；2026年1月，被评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。^[1]
