莘汀村在番禺区化龙镇北部，北临珠江，西与新造镇思贤村相接。村内有明末清初诗人屈大均的祖祠屈氏大宗祠和烟管岗烽火台遗址。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

建村时附近有许多小洲，「莘」指众多，「汀」指水边平地，村名由此而来。^[1]据说南宋年间村民从南雄珠玑巷迁来成村；1949年为莘汀乡，其后改称大队（1961年），再到1987年成立村民委员会。^[1]

2009年5月，村里农业人口692人，共240户，种养面积758亩，鱼塘占433亩、花卉约300亩。集体收入主要来自厂房和土地出租。^[1]

屈氏大宗祠在莘环路1号，是明末清初「岭南三大家」之一屈大均的祖祠，为砖、木、石混合结构。^[1]^[2]烟管岗烽火台遗址在岗顶（俗名大奶岗），年代为元至清，于2008年12月入选第七批广州市文物保护单位。^[1]据乾隆《番禺县志》，元末义兵元帅屈仲舒曾在岗上筑烟台，岗因而得名。^[1]
