东南村在番禺区化龙镇镇政府所在地，面积1.27平方千米，下辖9个村民小组。村名取自东街、南街两条街各一字。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村由南北向的东街与东西向的南街组成，各取首字为名。[1]相传建于宋代。1984年人民公社改称区，生产大队随之改作东南乡；1987年再称东南村，村民委员会同年成立。[1]1992年新村委大楼落成，办公地点迁到龙源路七巷4号。[1]
经济[edit]
村内常住人口1500多人，耕地1300多亩，种花卉、蔬菜和养鱼；集体收入主要靠商铺和土地出租。[1]东南村在2024年11月的广州市充分就业社区（村）认定中入选。[1]
