石龙村是金鸡镇的一个行政村。博雅地名网记载村名的由来是辖区内石龙村最大，故称石龙[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

石龙村在约1600年前后建村，称石龙，那时隶属泷水县。清代划入罗定州五都金鸡乡；民国时归罗定县第六区，1950年起并入罗定县第二区。1958年归金鸡乡管辖，1959年11月另立石龙大队，由苹塘公社领导，1961年5月转入新设的金鸡公社。1983年大队改为乡，归金鸡区；1986年改为村委会，1989年一度称管理区，1998年重新定名村委会[2]。

文化[edit]

村内的石围前村后山洞是日军侵华罪证遗址，1944年秋，日军在此施放毒气，洞中六人因此丧命。该遗址1985年5月20日被定为罗定县第一批文物保护单位[1][3]。

1993年，石龙村被评为革命老区[2]。2023年4月，「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单公布，石龙村在列[1]。
