上洞村位于石城镇东北方，距石城镇政府约17公里，是镇下辖的一个行政村。[1] 村名取自地形像一个大洞、且地处洞的上部，1961年设上洞大队，1999年设村民委员会，2021年被命名为第八批全国民主法治示范村（社区）。[1][2]

名称由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，此地形势像一个大洞，且位于洞的上部，故名上洞。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年至1957年间设上洞乡人民政府，1958与1959两年隶属东方红人民公社。1961年分设茶洞人民公社时设上洞大队。[2]

1986年起为上洞村委会，1989年改称管理区，1999年重设村民委员会，此后未变。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，上洞村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2020年12月，又列入「2020年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[2]

2020年12月，广东省爱卫会授予上洞村「2020年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[2]

2021年，司法部、民政部将上洞村命名为「第八批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1][2]
