横山村是云城区前锋镇下辖的行政村，早在明朝中期已有人定居。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，彭氏始祖在明朝中期为躲避周边战乱迁来；吴氏于1617年迁入，清初以后李、曾等姓陆续迁入；清乾隆年间黄姓与孔姓迁入，清光绪年间成姓迁入，清末陈姓迁入，民国时期肖姓迁入。[1]

1952年3月设料洞乡，1986年改设横山村委会，1989年改为管理区，1999年复称村委会，2000年2月划归前锋镇。[1]

著名人物[edit]

作家陈残云曾在前锋参加土改，时间自1951年11月到1952年12月，任土改队长，住在横山村的一座宗祠内。他后来以这段经历写成长篇小说《山谷风烟》，创作于1971年。[2]
