村内经济作物以青榄、青梅为主，村民以外出务工和耕种为主要收入[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1986年设立新建村委会，1990年变为新建管理区办事处，1999年改称新建村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。

社区荣誉[edit]

2023年5月，广东省爱卫会评定新建村为「2022年广东省卫生村」[1]。
