长坑村是广东省东莞市寮步镇下辖的行政村，位于寮步镇西南部，东邻井巷村，南面与东城街道的科技园相接。[1]

全村面积约1.2平方千米，距寮步镇政府约6千米，距东莞市政府约13.3千米。[1] 村内常住人口1146人，村民以陈、黄两姓为多。[1] 村中现存两座两进布局的宗祠，并有一棵树龄115年的三级古树木棉。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子在丘陵之间，地势西北高、东南低，村中的黄公岭最高处约215米。清代乾隆年间，此地归东莞县的京山司与缺口司管辖；民国时它属于东莞县第三区的金桔乡。新中国成立后，村地先划入第五区的普治乡，后归第三区的药勒乡；1958年并入寮步人民公社的药勒大队，此后历经三联大队与三联乡等建制，到1987年成为寮步镇三联大队下的管理区，直至1999年才以长坑村的名称设立行政村。[1]

人口与姓氏[edit]

村内主要姓氏有陈、黄、邓、骆、杨五个，其中陈、黄两姓人数最多。[1] 村民均为汉族，属广府民系，说粤方言东莞寮步话。[1] 本村出身而定居香港的乡亲为数不少，村里还聚居着约4500名外来的新莞人。[1]

经济与设施[edit]

改革开放前，村里以水稻为主要作物，同时大面积种植荔枝、橙、柑、甘蔗和花生，其中荔枝最为知名。改革开放后，村民转种收益更高的果树，村中也开办了粮油、红砖、榨糖和碾米等加工作坊。20世纪末之后传统农业逐步萎缩，村集体目前拥有8间厂房，已由多家企业使用。[1]

村里的文化活动中心于2012年落成，用地约1200平方米，三层楼的建筑面积约3700平方米；楼内有一个可容百人的会议室、一间喜宴堂，并设健身区、展厅、藏书楼、阅览区和儿童活动中心。[1]

古建筑与古树[edit]

新中国成立时村里有民居100多座，到2024年多数已改建或重修，现存两座。其中一座民国初期的青砖民房占地约50平方米。[1]

村中现存黄氏宗祠和陈氏宗祠两座，黄氏宗祠占地约198平方米，陈氏宗祠占地约160平方米，两祠均为两进布局，并都在2024年重修。[1] 村里还有一棵树龄115年的木棉，列为三级古树。[1]
