长坑村属龙门县龙田镇，原名塘坑，1981年7月改称长坑。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网，早年李、朱、许、刘、孙、吴、龚、叶等姓先人迁到塘坑、二寨、三寨居住，后来又有幸、张、伍、林诸姓迁入，各姓议定以塘坑为名。因铁岗镇也有同名的塘坑管理区，1981年7月改为长坑。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
此地先后属城东乡、沙塘乡、沙塘大队；1961年单立塘坑大队，1984年划归旧梁乡，1987年设村民委员会，1999年5月定名长坑村。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月入选「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单，2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
