博雅地名网记，赤坎村于明朝嘉靖年间立村，1951年一度属黄家坣乡。[2]

人口与产业[edit]

村内常住人口约12000人，其中户籍1517人，外来人口约10000人。[1]村内有工业企业约130家，其中规模以上28家，专精特新企业5家；个体经营户约250家。[1]

集体经济[edit]

2025年村集体总收入1709万元，纯收入893万元。村里在低效用地上推进工业大厦项目，拟通过盘活土地增加收入。[1]

民生与文化[edit]

村内设有综合康体大楼、城市阅读驿站、文化广场与湖滨碧道，每年固定举办“赤坎素食日”慈善活动，并开设青少年绘画、书法公益课堂。[1]
