渔业与渡海作战[edit]
村以海洋渔业为主，2004年有机动渔船61艘，主要水产有黄花鱼、马鲛鱼、鲻鱼。[2]赤坎港是省、县的主要渔港之一，1950年渡海作战时是指挥部所在地，邓华司令员曾驻在这里。[2]
概况与荣誉[edit]
2004年，全管区441户2143人，耕地1420亩，农业总产值1839万元。[2]湛江市2020年度全市文明村的名单（2021年1月公布）里有赤渔村；2023年5月，赤坎、麻湖两村获评2022年广东省卫生村。[1]
