东方村属龙川县岩镇镇，是一个村庄。村名的含义是“日出东方”，命名时正值新中国成立前后。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

东方村原本属于平越一带。新中国成立前，此地归平山乡；1952年划入平越乡，1957年改属平联管区。1958年设东方大队，1983年设东方乡。[1]

1986年改为村委会，1989年成为管理区，1999年又设村委会。2004年，库边村委会获县政府批准并入东方村委会。[1]

文化[edit]

东方村于2019年9月被列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2019年10月又被纳入「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。[1]

经济[edit]

县人民政府2025年工作报告把平越与东方两村的美丽家园省级示范项目列为待推进事项。[2]
