历史沿革[edit]
解放前叫古灵洞，含5条自然村，解放初是一区东屏乡的第四村。1957年成立高级社时称东方农业合作社，1958年称东方大队，1983年11月恢复东方乡。1987年1月撤乡改村，调整为东方村委会，属荔城镇；2004年增江街成立后属增江街。[1]
人口与环境[edit]
村情简介记全村有荔枝墩、梁村、百足钳、门楼夫、大村岭、马蹄石、大坑、光墩共8条自然村，分设9个经济合作社，288户约1500人。村中有蕉石岭森林公园。[1]
荣誉[edit]
广东省爱卫会在2021年12月授予东方村「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
