梅村是佗城镇的行政村，旧时村里梅树多、产梅子，故名，也写作枚村。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村名因旧时村中多梅树、出产梅子而来，又称枚村。1953年属瑶涧乡，1957年后归佗东管区，1963年自佗东管区析出梅村大队，1984年与东瑶并成东梅乡，其后1987年设村委会，1989年称管理区，1999年定为村民委员会。[1]

荣誉与建筑[edit]

2023年5月，被广东省爱卫会评为2022年度广东省卫生村。[1]村内的梅村叶屋是尚未定级的不可移动文物，建筑面积约1034平方米。[2]
