佗城社区是佗城镇的镇中心社区，1999年设立，所在的老城区就是龙川的旧县治。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
秦始皇三十三年（前214年），赵佗任龙川令，在此设县治；其后两千多年，这里一直叫龙川城。1941年9月，当地人为纪念赵佗筑城辟地、建立县治的功绩，改称佗城。[1]社区则在1999年设立。[1]
街巷[edit]
老城主街府前街在1925年改称中山街，以纪念孙中山；街旁有旧衙署遗址、衙署前的石狮、南越王庙、越王井和赵佗故居遗址。百岁街旧称儒学前街，在学宫之前，是古城现今最热闹的街区。[2]
