佗城村是佗城镇政府所在的行政村，属城中村，村名随镇名而来，旧称龙川城。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

此地原叫龙川城，1941年9月为纪念秦代县令赵佗建城、开辟县治，改称佗城；因它位于城区之内，村便以此为名。[1]1953年为佗城乡，1957年设管区，1963年改大队，1984年再成乡，1987年为村委会，1989年称管理区，1999年定为村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

文化[edit]

村内的龙川县商会是清代建筑，属第四批河源市文物保护单位。[1]据龙川县申报中国历史文化名镇的申请表，这个两千余人的村聚居着140个姓氏，被称为“中华姓氏第一村”；这一称号出自申报材料自身。[2]

2026年3月，佗城村被列入广东省“百千万工程”典型村镇（第三批）名单。[1]
