下洞村是紫金县古竹镇下辖的行政村，原与上洞村同属汤坑，1952年前后分设。[1]

地名由来[edit]

博雅地名网载，赖、邹、黄、王、李等姓先人早年到今田心村民小组一带定居，后来刘姓从兴宁罗岗镇陆续迁来，住在江尾、横圳一带。当地环境像山洞，村名因此叫下洞。汤坑之名据说源于此地出温泉。[1]

建置沿革[edit]

汤坑是永安县明隆庆三年（1569年）建县时，宽得都苦竹派社所辖十四村之一，新中国成立后一分为二，成为下洞、上洞两村。1952年设下洞乡，属第八区古竹镇；1958年成立生产大队，之后称下洞乡（1983年）、下洞村委会（1987年），1998年成立村委会，沿用至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，下洞村被列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
