名称与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，清代这里的粮田年年丰收，居民住在河的两岸，耕作要撑船过渡，村名因此而来。[1]晚近的一次变更是1999年改称米渡村委会；此前依次为1987年撤区设镇时改为米渡管理区，仍叫米渡社，建国初期由初级社到人民公社，咸丰八年（1858年）前后称米渡社。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 名列广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，名单2019年9月公布。[1]
  • 2023年5月，省爱卫会认定它为2022年度「广东省卫生村」。[1]
  • 省农业农村厅2020年8月公布首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，米渡村在列，产品为油茶。[1]
