名称与沿革[edit]
村名取自最早在此落户的刁、田两姓。[1][2]元末起有客家人迁来定居，渐成客家聚居之地。[2]建制上，1999年4月恢复刁田村之称；此前1989年9月曾作刁田管理区，1987年4月称刁田村，1984至1987年则是刁田乡。[1]
人口与土地[edit]
据百度百科，全村面积5.76平方千米，耕地1157亩，分17个村民小组，在册476户、2052人。[2]
古民居与名村称号[edit]
明清两代留下的客家围屋共12座，朝阳第一座在2009年获公布为「兴宁市特色古民居」。[2]刁田村在2009年12月入选第二批广东省历史文化名镇名村，又于2013年8月进入第二批中国传统村落名录。[1]村民还利用旧防空洞隧道藏酒，打出「石马洞藏酒」的牌子。[2]
荣誉[edit]
名列广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，名单2019年9月公布。[1]
