名称与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，石马所在的八坵坪属本村，旧时人们就把这里叫作马下。[1]晚近的一次变更是1999年起为马下村委会；此前依次为1986年称马下管理区，1983至1986年作马下乡政府，1958至1983年为马下大队，1949至1957年为马下乡。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 名列广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，名单2019年9月公布。[1]
  • 2023年5月，省爱卫会认定它为2022年度「广东省卫生村」。[1]

著名人物[edit]

何南凤（1588年—1651年）出生在马下村八丘坪，字道见，号知非。万历三十四年（1606年）中举后出家，创立融合儒释的「横山堂」一派，著有《半僧先生传》，另有诗文集《讱堂余稿》。[1][2]
