福岭村在蕉岭县新铺镇，人口在镇内各村中居前列。村名由「塘屋岭」演变而来：据村情材料，明洪武初年（1368）杨、卜、练三姓聚居于此，三个姓的客家话读音与「塘、屋、岭」相近，遂有此称。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明崇祯六年（1633）属金沙乡，写作塘福岭；1921年归金丰乡；1950年称塘福村；1958年成为福岭生产大队，新铺设区后的1983年改叫福岭乡；1987年新铺撤区建镇后称福岭村委会，1990年称管理区，1999年起复称村委会。[1]

概况与荣誉[edit]

村内20个村民小组，723户、2885人（村情材料未注年份），面积3.66平方公里，耕地1045亩，种玉米、甘蔗、花生。2019年9月，福岭村列入2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
