矮岭村位于蕉岭县新铺镇，濒临石窟河。村名原写「霭岭」：临河一带常有水汽，山岭脚下像笼着云雾；1990年后，居民嫌「霭」字笔画多，又与客家话的「矮」同音，便改写为矮岭。[1]
萱德楼[edit]
萱德楼是清代进士钟孟鸿一家的住宅，同治四年（1865）续建，三横两层、走马楼式，共41间房；大门匾额由进士贺寿慈书写，东门「耒经巢」三字相传为巡抚丁日昌所题。2014年列为县级文物保护单位，2016年投入203.2万元修缮。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
崇祯六年（1633）属金丰乡，称霭岭村；1921年称霭岭下；1950年称霭岭村；1952年立霭岭乡；1958年为霭岭生产大队；1983年属新铺区；1987年改称村委会，1990年起为矮岭管理区，1999年起称矮岭村委会。[1]

全村22个村民小组，740户、2755人（村情材料未注年份），面积5.72平方公里，耕地1162亩。[1]
人物[edit]
钟岱出生于本村，抗日将领，1944年获少将衔；日军占领香港后，他配合东江纵队转移茅盾、夏衍等文化人士。[3]
