民主村位于华城镇北部，村名来自解放初期进步青年到村中夜校读书一事。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，解放初期进步青年来村里夜校读书，居民觉得风气较为民主，因而得名。1949年立民主乡，1958年起设民主大队，1983年改由乡政府管理，到1989年又改设管理区；1999年管理区撤销，建立民主村委会。[1]

概况与荣誉[edit]

村辖24个村民小组，页面所载在册515户、2369人，耕地1062亩，土地总面积5.8平方公里。另在2019年9月被省里列为2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位。[1]
