满堂村在华城镇西部，原名马鞍塘，1947年改称满堂。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，村原名「马鞍塘」：进入此塘须经过一处形似马鞍的山坳，古称马鞍坳。后人觉得「马鞍」是供人骑的，字面有歧义，1947年经乡贤张天奇、张旭初提议，由县政府批准改作「满堂」，取家庭兴旺、儿孙满堂之意。[1]
沿革[edit]
解放初期，以琴江为界，河西一带归粤湘边纵东二支队管辖。1950年5月全县重新划为8个区、64个乡、5个镇，这里属华城区；1952年10月全县分15个区、4个镇，属第三区乐华乡；1955年6月归华城区乐华乡，1957年1月归华城乡，1999年5月改为满堂村委会。[1]
