华城镇是广东省梅州市五华县北部的镇，旧称长乐镇，位于潭下河、五华河、乌陂河汇合处，距水寨镇27千米；自北宋熙宁四年（1071年）设长乐县起直至1954年，这里是县治所在。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网转录的镇志概述，这里西汉时隶龙川，晋代隶兴宁；北宋天禧二年（1018年）有了长乐镇之名，熙宁四年（1071年）再设长乐县，县治即在镇上。维基百科则称，自宋代至民国，华城都是五华县（长乐县）的县治。[3][4]民国三年（1914年）长乐县改称五华县，长乐镇同年改称华城镇；1954年县政府迁往水寨镇，华城镇成为其辖区。[3]地名由来的另一种说法是，西汉南越王赵佗曾在此筑行宫「长乐台」。[2]后经考古发掘证实，狮雄山上的遗址实为秦与南越国时期「定楬道」的治所，早先的行宫之说被纠正。[10]

镇域内的新桥一带原为独立的新桥镇。新一、新二、新四、新五、洋田、新亨等村的村情记载，这些村1999年前后属新桥镇，2003年新桥镇并入华城镇。[15]

地理环境[edit]

华城镇在五华县北部，邻界依次是：东北的兴宁市、东南的转水镇、西南的潭下镇、西面的岐岭镇，以及北面的龙川县。[1]镇距水寨镇27千米，距梅州市区76千米；205国道、广梅汕铁路和梅河高速公路自东向西横穿境内。[3]主要河流有新桥水、五华河、潭下河和乌陂河，地形以低山丘陵为主，沿河谷有少量冲积平地。[3]年平均气温21.2摄氏度，年降雨量1500毫米至1600毫米。[3]境内有花岗岩、瓷土、钾长石、稀土等矿产。[3]

2019年末，全镇户籍人口126502人；2020年6月，辖3个社区和34个行政村。[1]第七次全国人口普查（2020年）的常住人口为8.31万人，在五华县各镇中居第4位。[2]

据博雅地名网转录的2005年数据，华城镇是五华县三个中心镇之一，当年工农业总产值6.0222亿元，工商税收899.5万元；农副产品基地有绞股蓝、果蔗、油茶种植和腐竹加工，形成「种豆、加工腐竹、养猪」的生产模式。[3]据百度百科，2018年一般公共预算总收入16116万元，比上年增加2128万元。[1]葵富村以鹰嘴桃入选2020年首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村。[14]

名胜古迹[edit]

  • 狮雄山遗址：在塔岗村狮雄山，秦至西汉早期的建筑遗址，1982年发现，总面积约22万平方米；1989年起是省级文物保护单位，2019年升列第八批全国重点文物保护单位。[5]
  • 狮雄山塔：在塔岗村，建于明万历四十年（1612年），八角九层楼阁式砖木塔，高35.5米，1989年列为广东省文物保护单位；「塔冈春涨」是古长乐八景之一。[6]
  • 长乐学宫：在城镇村五华中学校园内，始建于宋代，明成化五年（1469年）建成于北隅紫金山下，占地5100多平方米，1989年公布为广东省文物保护单位。[7]
  • 李威光故居：在黄埔村下四角楼，清代客家围龙屋，占地4140平方米，2010年5月公布为第六批广东省文物保护单位。[8]
  • 华城城隍庙：在城镇村十字街西，始建于明洪武四年（1371年），2010年12月列为五华县文物保护单位。[11]
  • 华城东征军政治部旧址（宗圣祠）：清代建筑，在城镇村，2015年2月公布为第三批梅州市文物保护单位。[12]
  • 新一戴氏宗祠（桂园围）：清代建筑，在新一村，2016年6月公布为第四批梅州市文物保护单位。[13]

博雅地名网所载镇情称，全镇有旅游资源十余处，其中省级文物保护单位3处，即长乐学宫、狮雄山遗址和狮雄山塔。[3]

著名人物[edit]

李威光（1735年至1795年），字作楫，号韬序，华城镇黄埔村人。乾隆三十七年（1772年）恩科会试第一名，殿试钦点武状元，授御前侍卫，后历任游击、参将、副将，官至南澳总兵。[9]
