地名由来与沿革[edit]

旧时这里有上坑、梅塘、墩坝、墩下四个自然村，新中国成立后合并，取上坑的「上」、墩下的「墩」为村名。1958年时是上墩大队，1987年改为管理区，1999年改设村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

上墩村列入广东省2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，名单于2019年9月公布；2026年3月，列入广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇名单。[1]
