新化村是梅县区畲江镇的行政村，由曾店公王的新猷学校与澄洞的同化学校合并得名。[1]

地名由来与沿革[edit]

村名取自学校的合并：建国初期，曾店公王所办的新猷学校和澄洞所办的同化学校并为一校，各取一字，称新化。[1]

此地自南朝齐起历代归程乡县万安乡；明代编入万安都；清康熙年间为程乡县畲坑堡的一部分；民国时归畲坑乡；1949年入曾店乡，1958年立新化生产大队，1983年改设新化乡，1987年起设管理区，1999年改设村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2017年10月，新化村由省爱卫会授予「第一批广东省卫生村」；2019年9月公布的广东省2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单中也有该村；2026年3月，列入广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇名单。[1]
