石月村是广东省梅州市梅县区城东镇下辖的行政村，位于镇府南4.5公里，设15个村民小组，在册342户、1792人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代隶东厢堡，民国年间在梅县东厢乡境内；1949年归城北区，1958年编入卫星人民公社，翌年改隶竹洋人民公社，1963年转入城东人民公社。1987年易名管理区，1999年成为村民委员会。[3]

地名由来[edit]

村旁有一座山岭形如月牙，山体近乎石山，村名由此而来。[2]

据村情介绍，石月村设15个村民小组，在册342户、1792人，全村面积1.79平方千米，耕地715亩；主要种植水稻、水果等，特色经济收入345万元，上一年农村经济总收入2711万元。[1]

著名人物[edit]

廖道传（1877年—1931年），字叔度，生于嘉应州东厢堡大塘面（今石月村），为嘉应大学创办人之一；曾出任广东高等师范学校校长（1913年），有诗文集《京师集》等传世。[4]
