书坑村是广东省梅州市梅县区城东镇下辖的行政村，位于镇府南3.5公里，设16个村民小组，在册464户、2127人。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代隶嘉应州东厢堡书坑约，民国年间在梅县东厢乡境内。1949年归城北区，1956年划给城东乡，到1963年转入城东人民公社，1983年起隶城东区。1987年易名管理区，1999年成为村民委员会。[3]
地名由来[edit]
相传清代嘉应州各地赴考的读书人挑着书籍路过佛祖高，在此歇息，山坪顶上一时堆满书箱，村因此得名书坑。[2]

据村情介绍，书坑村设16个村民小组，在册464户、2127人，全村面积7.81平方千米，耕地1359亩；主要种植水稻、水果等，特色经济收入850万元，上一年农村经济总收入4950万元。[1]
