谢田村是广东省梅州市梅县区城东镇下辖的行政村，位于镇府西南1.5公里，设8个村民小组，在册252户、1309人。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代隶嘉应州程乡县梅屏堡（旧名下半图）谢田社，民国年间在梅县梅屏内乡境内。1949年归梅县白渡区，1958年编入城东公社。1987年易名管理区，1999年成为村民委员会。[3]
地名由来[edit]
村落始建于明代初年。关于村名有两说：一说先民见此处是良田盆地，在此定居，把以草木灰作肥的田称为「輋田」，后辗转演变为「谢田」；另一说是最早有谢姓先祖在此居住。[2]
经济[edit]
据村情介绍，谢田村设8个村民小组，在册252户、1309人，全村面积5.67平方千米，耕地752亩；主要种植水稻、水果等，特色经济收入755万元，上一年农村经济总收入2630万元。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
谢田谢氏祖祠为明代建筑，2016年6月29日由梅州市人民政府公布为第四批梅州市文物保护单位。[4]
