竹洋村是梅州市梅县区城东镇下辖的行政村，镇政府驻此，设21个村民小组，在册442户、1940人。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清朝隶梅屏堡，民国年间在梅屏内乡境内。1949年归梅县白渡区，1953年划给城北区；1958年名竹洋大队，1983年起隶城东区。管理区的名称始于1987年，村民委员会成立于1999年。[3]
地名由来[edit]
竹洋又名黄竹洋，相传过去此地盛产黄竹，竹林连片如海洋，故得名。城东镇人民政府设在竹洋。[2]
经济[edit]
据村情介绍，竹洋村设21个村民小组，在册442户、1940人，全村面积9.45平方千米，耕地1021亩；主要种植水稻、水果等，特色经济收入1100万元，上一年农村经济总收入5152万元。[1]
