潮塘村是广东省梅州市梅县区城东镇下辖的行政村，位于镇府东南3.5公里，设6个村民小组，在册89户、419人。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代在程乡县东厢堡境内。民国三十七年（1948年）划入梅县东厢乡；新中国成立当年归梅县城北区。城东乡于1956年自城北区分设，村随即改隶该乡。其后经两年转入卫星人民公社（日后易名梅城公社），1959年再改隶新办的竹洋公社，1963年划给城东公社，名潮塘大队。进入1983年易名管理区，至1999年又改成村民委员会，沿用至今。[3]
地名由来[edit]
村名来自旧时村里的一口草塘，「草」与「潮」读音相近。[2]
经济[edit]
据村情介绍，潮塘村设6个村民小组，在册89户、419人，全村面积5.96平方千米，耕地539亩；主要种植水稻、水果等，特色经济收入227万元，上一年农村经济总收入830万元。[1]
