地名由来[edit]

徐氏1946年从五华县长乐镇迁来建村，村名寓意“东边太平”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

该村清代归归善县巡司署，民国属福田乡。1949年至1958年10月，它陆续属于长宁乡所在的第四区、第五区和第十一区；之后到1983年11月是长宁人民公社的东平大队，再后为长宁区东平乡，1990至1999年改称长宁镇东平管理区。[1]
