五十年代初初级社并成高级社时，用下屋塘和浪头两处大聚居点名称的首字合成村名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村里的黄氏清朝中期自福建漳州迁入，后来又有外地人家陆续迁来。该地在清初和民国时期隶属博罗县长宁镇，新中国成立后设长宁公社，1999年改称下浪村民委员会。[1]
2026年1月，下浪村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
