石狗镇在广东省肇庆市四会市中西部，分布于绥江两岸，北邻黄田镇，西与高要区、广宁县相接，下辖1个社区和10个行政村，以农业为主，种植柑桔和花卉。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明嘉靖三十八年（1559年）以后，绥江右岸划归广宁县，左岸仍属四会县。清光绪年间，左岸属四会县铁场铺，右岸属广宁县程村铺；民国时期，四会一侧设广善乡，广宁一侧设2个乡。[2]

新中国成立后，原属广宁县的乡于1954年7月划入四会县，编入第四区。此后区制几经变动：1957年1月区撤销，并成石乡；1958年9月，石乡同黄田乡共建第四人民公社，其后更名石狗人民公社；1983年公社改制为区，1987年3月区改为镇。[2][1]

镇名取自境内一块形似狗头的大石。[2]

地理环境[edit]

据镇政府所写的概况，全镇面积142平方公里，地处绥江下游，东与下茆镇、城中街道相邻，北接黄田镇，西连高要、广宁，南靠邓村镇。省道四连线和绥江穿过镇境，水路可通珠三角和西江各地。镇内耕地21435亩，其中水田16470亩；林地162319.5亩，园地5657亩，鱼塘1480亩。[3]

人口[edit]

镇政府概况称，全镇有238个村小组，人口共25662，非农业人口仅1042。[3]另据百度百科，2025年5月的辖区为237个村小组，户籍人口约2.75万人；第七次全国人口普查的结果为1.21万人，在四会各街道乡镇中居第10位。[1][2]

经济[edit]

石狗镇以农业为主，柑桔种植历史较久，已形成规模生产；花卉产业为后起，程村、石狗等村种植兰花。该概况给出的2005年数字：社会总产值2.19亿余元（21934万元），其中农业15807万元、工业1003万元，财政收入290万元。[3][2]2024年，全镇地区生产总值为7.8亿元。[1]

镇政府投入资金迁建旧圩镇，新圩镇按统一规划建设。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局把石狗镇列为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范乡镇」创建单位。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

石桥村大坳村半山腰有无名烈士纪念碑，带下村合龙村后山有刻着“李班长”的烈士纪念碑，二者的烈士姓名均无从查考。[2]
